414 graduated from TESDA skills training in tourism trades

Baguio City – More than 400 trainees here have received their National Certificates (NC) for completing various courses under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Of the 414 trainees graduated, 28 in Diploma in Culinary Arts, 24 in Diploma in Hospitality Administration and Supervision, 13 in Certificate in Coffee and Bar Services, 42 in Certificate in Culinary Arts, 25 in Certificate in Baking and Housekeeping Services, 100 in Cookery NC II, 23 in Bartending NC II, 25 in Bread and Pastry Production NC II, 43 in Food and Beverage Services, 47 in Housekeeping NC II and 26 in Barista NC II.

TESDA-CAR Regional Director Manuel Wong said that one of the primary objectives of TESDA-promulgated Training Regulations (TR) is to enhance employability of the TVET graduates.

“We cannot overemphasize the importance of TVET in today’s technology-based work environment,” he said.

He also related that during dialogues with employers, good work ethic is critical. Reiterating, “Remember to work on your attitude, look for the idol and model in the workplace, and emulate the good thing you observe. Have the ability to accept there is so much more to learn.”

RD Wong urged the graduates to utilize the skills they have gained from the Baguio City Schools of Arts and Trades to improve their status in life.
