2017 Regional Skills Competition (RSC)
TESDA Skills Competition is a friendly competition amongst TVET partners and stakeholders which aimed to recognize work excellence among TVET graduates and practitioners, and develop new generation of highly skilled Filipino workers capable of competing worldwide.
For 2017 Regional Skills Competition, TESDA-CAR enlist in seven trade areas which was participated by 21 competitors and coaches from different TVET institutions in CAR as follows:
The opening program was conducted on August 15, 2017 at BENECO Multipurpose Hall, Southdrive, Baguio City. The program includes the presentation of participants followed by the oath of competitors led by Jalanie Dimacaling, one of the two representatives of the Philippines to the World Skills Competition in October 2017. Finally, the Regional Director Rafael Abrogar II and RTESD Chair Atty. Betty Lourdes F. Tabanda headed the ceremonial cutting of competition chain to signify official declaration of opening of the competition.

On the second day of the competition, the Regional Director and Provincial Directors were interviewed in the Kapihan sa Baguio with PIA-CAR. The interview highlighted the 2017 Regional Skills Competition and includes promotion of other programs of TESDA. It was aired on Sky Cable and was broadcasted in different media organizations. TV coverage of the competition was also held.
