TESDA Institutions promotes local organic produce at SM Baguio Trade Fair

LOAKAN-The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Cordillera promotes local organic produce of its farmer-scholarship beneficiaries together with the 3 TESDA training institutions in Baguio-Benguet in SM Baguio Trade Fair.

TESDA Benguet Provincial Director Vilma C. Cabrera said the trade fair is part of the forged partnership with SM Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Sustainable Agriculture Program to help the farmers learn new trends in the agriculture sector and promote their products.

It is recalled that 50 farmers were beneficiaries of the KSK program with free training and allowance and other benefits. SM Foundation committed during their graduation on October 26, 2020, that they will help them promote their products in the SM outlets.

“We also included our two farm schools in the fair, the Lily of the Valley and the Cosmic Farm for them to promote their agriculture products such as devil chili, honey, blueberry jam, ashitaba polvoron, organic Celery, organic Chinese Kale, blue ternatea, native tomato and lots of organic products. We also displayed in our booth the freshly baked bread and pastries of our trainees and scholars from the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades,” she added.

The trade fair is a week-long activity and it is expected to end on November 29, 2020. Director Cabrera encourages other TESDA training institutions to partake in the activity to promote their products.
