TESDA trains 40 CAFGUs in Kabayan, Benguet
LOAKAN-Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Benguet trained 40 Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Units (CAFGUs) of the 503 Infantry Brigade, Ballay Patrol Base, Kabayan, Benguet on August 24-September 04, 2020. The partnership is in adherence to TESDA Circular 074- Implementing Guidelines on the Responsibilities and Obligations of TESDA in its Partnership with the Department of National Defense (DND) .
The partnership between TESDA and DND will cover the delivery programs and services in Education and Training, Trainers development, Facilities and equipment-sharing for training and assessment, and competency assessment and certification that are subject to the existing rules and regulations of TESDA and DND. The first batch of 20 CAFGUs was trained on Agricultural Crop Production on August 24-28, 2020, and the second batch of 20 was trained on Security Services on August 31-September 04, 2020 through the Community-Based Training(CBT) delivery. The graduates had undergone assessment in the Certification program of TESDA.
According to Director Vilma Cabrera, Provincial Director of TESDA-Benguet, the trained CAFGUs will be tapped as trainers in the conduct of training in the Geographically Isolated and deprived Areas (GIDA) under the Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) program.
This is one of TESDAs efforts to empower the human workforce of the country towards the new normal through strengthening and expanding collaborations and partnerships to all its stakeholders to include government organizations and non-government organizations.
