“The transferred machines and equipment is the result of the consistent quality of service and dedication that the center provides, as demonstrated in its 97% certification rate and 100% employment rate for its machining graduates in 2017,” said Engr. Hector L. Laguardia, OIC Center Administrator for RTC-Baguio.
He noted that the center received a TESDA 2-STAR award last October for its Machining NC II program, its distinctive area of competence. The center also remains as a Center of Excellence in Machining Technology, producing graduates that supply local industry demand as well as in Regions I, II and NCR.
The center has also cultivated strong partnership and collaboration with industry partners such as MOOG Controls, the producer of aerospace parts and accessories, as well as Jamco and Izzo Industries based in Clark, Pampanga.
Regional Director Efren F. Piñol, Benguet Provincial Director Manuel B. Wong, OIC Administrator Laguardia, and the ongoing trainees in Machining NC II who will be the first batch to utilize the machines and equipment, received the symbolic transfer of machines during the turnover ceremony.
The machines and equipment were transferred during the first two weeks of February and are currently being commissioned to be used in the center’s training programs.
