Skills demonstration held
BAGUIO CITY – To showcase the skills and competency that the region has to offer, skills demonstrations were held as part of the activities for Pre-Qualification Selection Process on May 7-11, 2018 at the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) Compound in Baguio City. These include cake decoration, table skirting, food carving, travel services and events management.
According to Romeo Salvador, trainer for Food and Beverage Services (FBS) at the Pines City Colleges, skills demonstrations are a good way for students or trainees to be exposed to and learn from the competition environment. Along with student Jeremeh Lumague, he demonstrated different techniques in table skirting, one of the competencies in FBS.
Meanwhile, Chef James Obille, an assessor for Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) from Medline International Training Institute (MITI), showcased his skills in cake decoration, while Benny Jun Martin, a BPP trainee of Cordillera Quest displayed his food carving skills.
BCSAT and Forest House also participated in the skills demonstration in the areas of events management and travel services. The demonstrations will showcase different skills until May 11, 2018.#
