PH Pre-Qualification Selection starts
BAGUIO CITY – A little tense maybe, but definitely ready, the competitors in Cooking and Restaurant Services for the 2018 Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) Pre-Qualification Selection Process began their three-day “audition” to become the country’s representatives to the ASEAN Skills Competition in September 2018.
PRECISION. Jevo Gygni Calaustro, Region CAR competitor for Cooking, prepares the ingredients for the first task of the competition in the Pre-Qualification Selection Process. The winners will be further trained and evaluated to represent the country in the ASEAN Skills Competition in Thailand later this year. //BBLee
According to Mary Kristine Iris Pasion, technical expert for Cooking, the competition will strictly follow the rules and guidelines of the Worldskills in order to prepare the competitors for the upcoming ASEAN Skills Competition.
The Cooking competition started at exactly 9:00 AM for the Module 1, including vegetarian canapés and lemon meringue pie in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Restaurant Service competition began with preparation of Latté Art, table boxing and napkin folding. This was followed by fruit carving, caramelization, and mocktail preparation in the afternoon.
The Restaurant Service competition will continue with Banqueting Service on May 8, 2018 while Module 2, seafood pasta, and fish main course will compose the second day of the Cooking competition. #
