TESDA,DA,DTI project benefits farmers

TABUK, KALINGA – A collaboration project of Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA)- Kalinga, Department of Agriculture (DA)and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) benefited 25 selected farmer beneficiaries and agricultural technicians from the provinces of Apayao, Ifugao and Kalinga.

The three agencies conducted a training on the Operation and Management of Combine Harvester on May 16-18, 2018 at the Golden Berries Hotel in Tabuk, Kalinga to prepare the beneficiaries and ensure that the machines will be maximized and utilized properly.


Accordingly, the combine harvester machine is designed to combine three harvesting operations - reaping, threshing, and winnowing – into a single process, making it an efficient harvesting machine.


“Agriculture must be sustained and enhance in order to increase rice and corn production to eradicate hunger,” said Gabriel Cayacay, Provincial Director of TESDA-Kalinga, who also served as speaker on rice machinery operations during the training.


Meanwhile, Engr. Raul Baayangdan of DA-Kalinga facilitated the hands-on practice and demonstration in the proper operation of the machine to the participants San Juan, Tabuk City on May 17, 2018. #
