Secretary Isidro Lapeña Urges BCSAT Scholars for After-Training Goal

The TESDA Director General, Secretary Isidro Lapeña, challenged the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) management and staff to ensure tangible results after their training. The Secretary was referring to employment and/or livelihood which the graduates will get into. He also told the students that they should help themselves, in addition to the guidance and employment facilitation services of their school.

He advised the students to take advantage of the free TVET and other benefits given by the TESDA. They should make sure that their scholarship will uplift their and their family’s economic status.

Secretary Lapeña expressed appreciation of the school facilities although he acknowledged they could further be improved. Upgrading the school facilities and equipment will allow the BCSAT to offer more high-level TVET programs.

He encouraged the school personnel and the students to voice their concerns, saying, “It is my responsibility to bring your concerns to the national leadership. I cannot take action if I do not know kaya ako na ang pumupunta sa inyo. The support should be there if we demand more from you.”

The Secretary also dictated aloud his contact number, reiterating that they can always send him a message should a concern arise.

Secretary Lapeña and Director Gladys Rosales were met by the BCSAT personnel who danced a pattong to show their delight for the visit. #
