TESDA-CAR holds workshop on internal quality audit

LOAKAN, Baguio City—Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-CAR acting Regional Director Engineer Manuel Wong emphasized that the calibration of internal auditors enhances the auditors’ familiarization with the evolving requirements of the TESDA Quality Management System (QMS).

He expressed enthusiasm that the activity would result in a more effective implementation of the agency’s QMS and greater readiness of the surveillance audit given the commitment he has observed among the participants.

A total of 22 employees from TESDA – CAR attended the two-day IQA Workshop and Calibration of Auditors to enable the auditors to discuss new circulars and memoranda concerning the IQA, review the audit procedure and previous reports, and prepare audit checklist, and schedule.

TESDA-Mountain Province provincial director Eric Ueda, who is also the focal director on IQA, hailed the office for having series of audits of its Quality Management System: internal audit compliance and surveillance audits.

He said that some organizations prepare only during inspection or mandatory audits so that the essence of sustaining the standards is lost.

He encouraged the participants to focus on the task at hand because the quality policy and procedure is the core of all operations.

The workshop was conducted on April 22-23, 2019 at the TESDA-CAR multipurpose hall in Loakan, Baguio City. Audit checklists for 12 processes of the QMS and Audit schedule of seven (7) operating units were prepared.
