TESDA Benguet urges children in conflict with the law to avail of free skills training

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) here has urged 30 children in conflict with the law (CICL) to avail of free skills training to give them a better life and enable them to enhance their employability.

“TESDA plays an important role in providing training, employment, and livelihood to identified clients especially these children,” said Engr. David Bungallon, TESDA Baguio-Benguet Provincial Director.

He said that TESDA will continue implementing necessary interventions through skills training for the poor and other ‘special clients’ like rebel returnees, indigenous peoples (IPs), drug surrenderees, persons deprived of liberty, children in conflict with the law, persons with disabilities, overseas Filipino workers, senior citizens, women, out of school youths, and other marginalized sectors.

“Let the government help you in developing your skills, talents and gifts through the government’s education and training programs. Embrace this rehabilitation process and you will be empowered and ready to face the challenges outside the facility,” he said.

PD Bungallon reiterated that the TESDA intervention is in line with the presidential directives and development agenda to provide skills training to everybody.

“With the slogan “,” the agency will reach all sectors of society especially those financially constrained to go to school and learn various skills to be a competitive part of the Filipino workforce,” he added.
