TESDA-Abra partners with LGU-Danglas and DTI to train local entrepreneurs
DANGLAS, Abra—The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority here continues to promote technical and vocational education training (TVET) and urged entrepreneurs to avail of free skills training during the conduct of information caravan here.
“We are encouraging entrepreneurs to avail of the free skills training that TESDA is providing. This will not only equip them with skills but will improve their livelihood,” said Maricon Taclaoan, TESD Specialist II.
She added that TESDA is promoting free TVET programs in the grassroots levels.
A training in Dragon Fruit Processing was conducted at Barangay Abaquid, Danglas, Abra on September 2, 2019 with 18 entrepreneur-participants.
The participants were taught to process dragon fruit into puree, jam, candy and pastillas.
The Municipality of Danglas, Abra is one of the biggest producers of dragon fruit in the province.
The program is a joint undertaking of the local government unit headed by Mayor Denise Florence B. Bragas, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Abra to help the beneficiaries utilize dragon fruit into saleable products and generate more income.
