TESDA-Benguet vows to provide continuous trainings to PDLs
WANGAL, La Trinidad--The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will continue to provide trainings to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) that would help them get employed after their release from the reformatory center, an official said on September 9, 2019.
“Rest assured that TESDA will continue to support the re-integration of our PDLs. We will help them transform their lives through skills training,” said Engr. David Bungallon, TESDA Baguio-Benguet Provincial Director.
He said that the identified skills training for the BJMP male trainees is Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I while it is Beauty Care for the females.
“Once they pass the competency assesment, they will receive their National Certificates (NC) which serves as a proof of their skills and competencies,” he added.
“If the PDLs are well, they will become more efficient and productive,” Bungallon said.
The training will be implemented on the third week of September.
Meanwhile, Jail Chief, Insp. Crispin Dornagon, BJMP - Baguio City male dorm lauded the agency for its continuing efforts in providing holistic skills training for the re-integration of the PDLs.
“Without the assistance of TESDA, our PDLs will not have the chance to empower themselves through skills training,” he said.
PD Bungallon added that with TESDA slogan ‘Abot Lahat’, the agency will continue to support the re-integration of the PDLs. (Glenda Marquez/TESDA-Benguet)
