TESDA bakes donated carrots into loaves for frontliners

LOAKAN— Frontliners in Baguio City continue to receive baked goods from the TESDA – Baguio/Benguet office as a result of bayanihan efforts with partners.

Provincial Director Vilma Cabrera said that various Buguias vegetable farmers donated two sacks of carrots to save their farm produce from being wasted and at the same time, offer healthy food to those affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

She reported that “TESDA-Benguet provided 10 liters of palm oil and other baking ingredients. Four employees helped in the production of 100 carrot loaves, together with students of the Baguio City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT). The BCSAT employed a training-cum-production scheme with their students.”

In addition, the BCSAT produced 840 pieces of nutribuns which were distributed to different policemen in the stations and checkpoints in the city on May 18, 2020. (Vilma Toralba/BCSAT)
